Ernest L Garrett Jr. of Casper passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was born Oct 19, 1948 to Stella Garza and Ernest L. Garrett Sr. in Kellogg Idaho. Ernie was in the first graduating class of Kelly Walsh High School in 1967. He met the love of his life, Bonnie Feuerhelm and they married in 1967. That same year, their son Tim was born. Two years later in 1969 they had a daughter, Laurie. Ernie was employed by Gulf Oil for over 20 years and then was employed at Gard Talbot's Engineering until he became ill and was forced to retire. Ernie was an avid water fowl hunter, enjoyed fishing, camping, and being the cook for all family gatherings. Ernie was a former member of Ducks Unlimited and the Eagles. Ernie had a laugh that was larger than life; anyone that knew him would say he was the life of the party. Ernie was the greatest husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend; he always made everyone feel loved and cherished. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of 46 years, his son Tim Garrett (Michelle), daughter Laurie Moore (Bob), grandchildren, Ashley & Riley Moore, and Randi & Brooke Garrett, all from Casper. Also his mother, Stella Nance of OK, brothers Kevin Vaudrey (Kerry) of Story WY, and Kenny Garrett (Sherry) of Casper, and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ernest L Garrett Sr., his stepmother Patty Garrett, sister, Kimberly Garrett and all his grandparents. Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper. A reception will immediately follow at the VFW Post 10677 420 N Elk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions
