Funeral services for Elva "June" (Babcock) Randall, 83, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 22,2012 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 1868 S. Poplar, Casper, Wyoming with Reverend William D. "Mac" McGrew officiating. June passed away peacefully on December 15, 2012 at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions. June was born on September 10, 1929 in Steele City, Nebraska the daughter of Kennith and Zelma (Anderson) Babcock. She was raised in Steele City and Fairbury, Nebraska. She attended Fairbury Junior College and Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska where she earned her teaching certificate. After coming to Wyoming she continued her education graduating from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She began her teaching in Nebraska and then in Casper. She worked 43 years in the Natrona County School District. Her early years in Casper began with special needs children and then into 1st and 2nd grades. She always credited Mr. and Mrs. Dean Morgan for helping her settle into the Casper area. An accomplished pianist she accompanied many singing groups and musicians including the church choir for services in her Nebraska Church. Early in her school career she prepared and conducted musical presentations with her students, particularly at Christmas time. June was involved with the Older Youth Fellowship, a young group of people from the First United Methodist Church and that is where she met her husband of 46 years/Hilton Randall. They were married on August 6, 1955 in Fairbury. They made their home in Casper and raised their family. After her retirement in 1992, she continued to substitute teach and did some tutoring. June chose her profession well as she cared about the education of children and especially those with special needs. She was also involved with their families, many of those that she continued to keep in touch with. June enjoyed traveling and made many trips with her very close friend, Betty Davis. Together they traveled extensively and had many memorable excursions and cruises. June also enjoyed camping with her family and recently found she a had knack for fishing. She enjoyed being out on the lake and camping in her motorhome. In the past few years she had been camping, fishing and recently attended an all town reunion in her hometown of Steele City. June was a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority, Christ United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Retired Mountain View Teachers, Casper Whirlwinds and Ghostown Good Sam Clubs, Round-Up Club, Casper F.O.E. # 306, and the Evanston Elks Lodge. June is survived by her son, John Randall of Evanston, Wyoming, daughter, Bonnie (Steve) Wilson, grandchildren, Jason Crotteau, Craig and Katie Wilson and great granddaughter Bailey Gardner all of Casper. June was preceded in death by her husband Hilton in 2001, and her parents. Graveside and Internment services will be held at the Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland, WY, on December 22, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Memorials be made to the Casper Humane Society, Christ United Methodist Church, Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, or a charity of the donors choice.
