Ellen Vayo

Ellen (Dawson) Vayo was born in Seattle, Washington, to Edgar Francis and Mabel Ellen (Korman) Dawson and passed away on May 17, 2018. Ellen was the wife of Frank Paul Vayo and mother of three children: Diana Lynn (Steve) Holcomb of Lander, Wyoming; Christopher Fitzgerald (Dorothy) of Casper, Wyoming; and Jennifer Ann (Mike) Golden of Casper, Wyoming. She was also the loving grandmother of Callie Marie (Chris) Frazier of Boulder, Colorado; Carli Anne Holcomb of Casper, Wyoming; and Darren (Breanna) Paul of Casper, Wyoming; and great grandmother of Lander Kent Frazier and Lynden James Frazier. She was the sister-in-law (and-in-love) of Ilene Burkhardt of Gresham, Oregon, and Marcia Vayo of Casper, Wyoming; and aunt of Clay (Karen) Dawson of Washington, CeCe (David) Buchanan of Oregon, and April (Ammar) Hallaj of New Jersey. Ellen didn't like fishing, but she loved a fisherman. She loved the way of the rosary, the sounds of thunder rumbling, corn popping, leaves crushing, and her children's voices. She loved snow, mountains, and un-rhyming poems. She loved long evening walks, cloud filled skies, and rain. She loved Sunday morning Mass, kitty-kitty-cat-cat lips, puppy-dog mischief, and oceans. She loved the way the world looked through the lens of a camera, fog, and others' eyes. She loved after school papers, the touch of old skin, family dinners, and time alone. She loved the warmth of home fires, notes from loved ones, and goodnight prayers. Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved fisherman husband, Frank. She was also predeceased by her father, mother, and brother William Edgar Dawson. A Mass for Ellen and Frank will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 31, 2018 St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper, Wyoming.. Bustard's Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements, and tissue donation and cremation have taken place. Recitation of the Rosary will be 6:30 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in Ellen's name may be made to the Casper Humane Society, 849 East E St., Casper, WY 82601, and Black Dog Animal Rescue, 3619 Evans Ave., Cheyenne, WY 82001.
