Elinor M. Long died November 19 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Ellie was born August 28, 1923 in Lavoye, Wyoming, near Teapot Dome, to Earl and Iva Wilson. Ellie graduated from Newcastle High School, worked in a defense plant in Kansas City, and moved to Casper after WWII. She married J. Neil Long on January 16, 1951. Ellie was the bookkeeper for Sprechers and Horn Drug stores for many years until joining Luker Realty as an agent and frequent Casper MLS Million Dollar Round Table member. After retirement she and Neil split their time between Casper and Mesa, Arizona until they moved to Cheyenne in 2010 to be near their son and daughter-in-law Tom and Kit Long. Ellie was preceded in death by her husband Neil and her four brothers and sisters and is survived by her sons Thomas N. (Kit) Long of Cheyenne and James A. Long of Mesa, AZ, granddaughters Alison M. (Dennis) Ward of Hydro, OK and Rebecca E. (John) Simmons of Dallas, TX, great grandson Brennen Neil Ward of Hydro, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens in Casper.
