Elenora Edna Rice, 91, passed away March 29, 2017 at Life Care Center in Casper, WY. She was born February 9, 1926 in Cody, Nebraska to Jack C. and Anna (Carson) Ainslie. Elenora went to school in Basin, Wyoming graduating in 1944, before going on to the University of Wyoming. On March 31, 1947 she married Howard B. Rice form Beckley, West Virginia, in Basin, Wyoming. The couple raised two children, Florence and Gregory. Elenora taught at Horse Creek School before working at the Spinning Wheel, which she purchased and owned and operated for over 20 years. She has a needlepoint chair in the Governor's Mansion in Cheyenne which she did for Gov. Mike Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Rice, in 1996; daughter, Florence Dvarishkis, in 2003; son, Gregory Rice, in 1985; sisters, Betty Riley, Elsie Killip, and Hulda Holt; and brothers, Stanley and Sidney Ainslie. Elenora leaves behind son-in-law, Roy Dvarishkis; grandchildren, Domanick Dvarishkis and Janice Miech; great-grandchildren, Christina Wolfe, Blake Dvarishkis, Katarina Miech, and Laurissa Miech ; great-great-grandchildren, Rose Marie Wolfe and Paizliegh Miech; and sisters, Iva Carder and Lois Merritt. Graveside services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Highland Cemetery. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Elenora's name be made to Meals on Wheels, 1760 East 12th Street, Casper, WY 82601.
