Missy Nickerson died at the Wyoming Medical Center as a result of a heart attack at the age of 91. She passed as she lived with strength, grace and dignity. Born Eliza Jane Brubaker in Glenrock, Wyoming, Missy was the 9th in a family of 12 children. Following high school graduation, Missy entered nursing school in California. Returning to Wyoming, she met a handsome red-headed soldier from Massachusetts who was stationed in Glenrock with the military. Red and Missy would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 16. Missy is survived by her husband Red and children Carol Lambert (Chuck), Rhea Dickover, Kathy Nickerson, Debbie Brandon (Bill) and David Nickerson (Cheryl). Missy is also survived by her brother, Richard Brubaker, and sister, Katherine Proffitt, as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A celebration of Missy's life will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Casper, Wyoming, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23.
