Eileen Kennedy

Eileen June (Wingert) Kennedy

August 28, 1933- June 23, 2021

Eileen was the youngest of three children born to Magdalena and Roy Wingert, she was born on August 28th, 1933, in Mills WY. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1951. She worked at Standard Oil Refinery as a key punch operator. On Sept 5, 1953, she married Gordon “Pat” Kennedy, and lived in Mills until 1954 when Pat was transferred to Cody WY and then Newcastle WY where their first child Patrick Kennedy was born. They moved back to Mills in 1955 where their daughter Eileen “Vee” was born. In 1959 they built a house in Mills and had their next daughter Valentine Kennedy, she only lived 3 hours. Raeleen was born next and then four years later Kaeleen was the last child born. Eileen was the secretary for Mills School until she moved with Pat, Rae and Kae to Sheridan WY in 1973. Pat worked for Western Airlines and when they closed the Sheridan branch in 1980, Eileen, Pat, Kae and granddaughter Lena moved back to Mills. In 1993 Eileen and Pat moved to Kaycee WY where they enjoyed the small-town atmosphere and being closer to their cabin. Some of Eileen’s notable community services; Mills Vol Fire Auxiliary, Mills Town Council, Mills Public Library, Kaycee Town Council, Dull Knife Homeowners Association, Suicide Prevention Team in Kaycee. She enjoyed crafting, reading, time at the cabin and most of all time with her large family.
