Effie Lorraine Bennion passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016 at the Wyoming Medical Center due to illness. She was born on November 9, 1930 in Meeteetse, Wyoming, the twin daughter of Mabel Ella Peoples and Boyd B. Bennion. Lorraine grew up in Meeteetse, Wyoming. At age five her twin sister died of spinal meningitis. Her school days, (grades1-12) were all spent in the same little school building. She cherished her childhood memories of times shared with, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins who lived close by in Meeteetse. In 1948 Lorraine graduated from Meeteetse High School and attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyoming majoring in business. She later found employment at the Meeteetse Mercantile as a bookkeeper. In 1958 Lorraine served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in the Central States Mission. Following her mission she returned to school at the L.D.S. Business College in Salt Lake City. In 1962, she began employment with the Bon Agency Insurance and made Casper, Wyoming her permanent home. She worked there for 34 years. Her woek was such a part of her that even after her retirement she would make daily trips to the Bon Agency and "The Bank". In Lorraine's 54 years of living in Casper she had touched lives and reached out to many through her friendship and service both in the church and community. Her final days were spent surrounded by those that loved her and those that she served. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Barbara. Survivors include her brother Bruce (Peggy) of Las Vegas, Nevada and their children Mike (Luisa) of Henderson, Nevada, David (Kim) of Mesa, Arizona, Breck (Michele) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jacqui of Phoenix, Arizona and her Bennion cousins of Casper; Robert, Scott (Stephanie), Cathy (Tom), Des (Carrie) and Deborah (Ron). Funeral services will be held June18, 2016 at 10:00AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 7th and Missouri Chapel Casper, Wyoming. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 9:00 AM at the church. Memorials may be sent to the Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, or the Casper College Foundation, 125 College Dr. both in Casper, Wyoming, 82601.
