Edna Mae (Burnett) Farran died peacefully in hospice care on December 31, 2023, following a brief battle with glioblastoma.
Edna was born March 29, 1948 at U.S. Army Hospital, Munich, Germany to the late Wallace and Henriette (Marois) Burnett. She grew up in Western Michigan, graduated in 1966 from Orchard View High School and attended Daniels Academy of Cosmetology. Following graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Thomas (“Tom”) Farran, and together they raised a family in Muskegon. Edna was a full-time mother for many years, active in the PTA and a local bowling league before working as the Quality Assurance Manager at E-Coaters of Western Michigan, a job she was very proud of.
In 2010 Edna moved to Casper, Wyoming, where she worked for Macy’s and met her significant other Steve Prentice. They spent more than a decade together, making many happy memories. Edna enjoyed sharing a home with Steve, as well as working in her beautiful yard and garden.
She will be deeply missed by her partner Steve, as well as her daughters Tammy (Adam) Wuertley of Casper, Wyoming, Carrie Farran of Muskegon, Michigan, and Marci (Dave) Kutzer of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her siblings Joni Brown and Jim (Diane) Burnett of Norton Shores, Michigan. Edna leaves a legacy of her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, in addition to beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In addition to Tom and her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her youngest brother John Burnett, as well as many in-laws and other relatives.
Edna will be dearly missed. A celebration of her life will occur in the spring. Gifts in her memory can be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions via centralwyominghospice.org
