Edith Kanelos

Edith F. Kanelos, 84, of Casper, WY, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017. She was born in Heart's Content, Newfoundland, Canada on May 14, 1933 to Frank and Rebecca Legge. She met James P. Kanelos when he hired her to be a waitress at the Gemini Restaurant. They married on March 6th, 1964 and spent 53 wonderful years together. She was a dedicated wife, helping James run several successful restaurants and businesses, all while raising 4 children. Some of her favorite things were watching the Rockies and Broncos, listening to George Strait, playing cards, bingo, entertaining, baking, gardening and knitting, but was happiest making memories with her grandchildren. According to her husband, she made the best baklava, not too dry and not too drippy. Edith is survived by her husband; sons, Jimmy Charles Lowe and Jim (Karen) Kanelos; daughters, Roxanne Hashman, Angie (John) Woodward and Helene (Chad) Rexius; grandchildren Holden Rexius, Demetrios Kanelos, Caiden Rexius, Paul Lowe, Stacy Roseberry, Roxee Storey and Christopher Babcock; numerous great-grandchildren and 8 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, one daughter and two sons. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and the Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. at Bustard's Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 26, 2017. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1350 C Street, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. with interment at Highland Cemetery to follow. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Yia Yia) and friend and will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.
