Earl Sides

Heaven gained an Angel on March 8, 2017. Earl Lee Sides was born January 25, 1927 in Kirtley, Wyoming to Florence (Fancher) Sides and Earl Eugene Sides. He grew up on his grandmother's farm in Kirtley, Wyoming. Earl attended Manville High school and finished his Junior and Senior year in the Navy, then attended the University of Wyoming for 2 years. Earl enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 in 1945 and was Yeoman 3rd Class with an Honorable discharge in 1946. Earl worked for a few oilfield companies including Continental Oil, Stern and Rogers and Manning Drilling Company. Earl finally went to work at True Drilling Company in 1951 and retired as the Assistant Drilling Superintendent in 1992. Earl Married Jeannie Williams in 1961 in Moorcroft, Wyoming and were blessed with 56 years of marriage. Earl was also blessed with three sons and a daughter, Don Sides, John Sides, Randy Sides and Crystal Flemming. Earl loved all sports but especially loved the game of golf. He was also an avid bowler and involved in leagues at El Marko Lanes. Earl loved to watch Casper College T-Bird basketball and was a season ticket holder for more than 35 years. Earl was a devoted, loving Husband and Father. Earl was patient, kind and caring and dearly loved by those who knew him and an example of how we should live our lives. We miss him dearly. Earl is survived by his wife Jeannie Sides, sister Shirley Martin, four children, Don Sides, John Sides, Randy Sides and Crystal Flemming. Earl was also blessed with three grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A second viewing will be conducted at Mount Hope Lutheran Church from 8:00am to 8:45am preceding the funeral service on March 13, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 9:00am, Monday, March 13, 2017 at Mount Hope Lutheran Church, 2300 Hickory St, Casper, WY 82604. Burial will follow at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery with military honors accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mount Hope Lutheran School, 2300 Hickory St, Casper, WY 82604.
