Douglas Eugene Sidwell, age 69, of Casper, Wyoming passed away, December 31, 2015. He was born August 13, 1946 in Douglas, Wyoming to Guy and June Sidwell. He graduated from Natrona County High School. He then attended Casper College for electronics. In March of 1966, Doug joined the U.S. Navy. He served four world tours aboard the U.S.S. America Aircraft Carrier. He earned a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Naval Unit Commendation. Doug was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved building and flying model airplanes, building and programing computers and going to the movies. Doug is survived by his brothers, Richard and Gary Sidwell, brother-in-law David Anderson, sons Jon and Bryan Sidwell, daughters Krystee Sidwell and Karen Harrington, grandsons Tyler Sidwell, Jeff Pederson, uncle Jack Brown, great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Anderson and grandson Gabriel Sidwell. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Adams Officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Interment will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery, Evansville, Wyoming.
