Dossie E. Shippert, age 77, passed away April, 2, 2011 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center where he had resided for the past eight months. He was born August 16, 1933 in Meta, Missouri to Harry Winfield Shippert, and Livonia Alma (Humphry) Shippert. Dossie was raised on the family farm and graduated from Dixon, Mo High School. He served in the US Army from 1953-1955, honorably discharged as Corporal when armistice was declared with Korea. Work was scarce in his home area, he ventured to Wyoming during the oil boom where he started on the drilling rigs, eventually working for various Oil well companies in the Linch, and Midwest area's, as roustabout, pumper, or workover rig operator. On July 5, 1956, he married Edith Lenore Palmer, making their home in the Midwest / Edgerton Areas and raising their family there. Upon retiring from Pacific Enterprises, he and Edie moved to Barr Nunn area in Casper Wy. Edie passed away November 30, 1995. He later married Lanay Bingham in August, 1998 and lived in Glenrock Wy., traveling some winters to warmer climate in Arizona. Besides his wife of Glenrock, he is survived by his daughter, Marilyn K. Anderson and son, Arnold Bruce Shippert, of Casper Wy, two granddaughters, Gianna and Kira Shippert of CA, stepsons, Arden Bingham, wife Sherry, Leo Bingham and wife, Chris, a stepdaughter, Audrey Langley and husband, Kraig, all of Gillette Wy, several step grandchildren, two brothers, Santo Shippert, wife, Betty of Liberty Mo., Donald Shippert and wife, Brenda of Independence, Mo., 5 sisters, Ica Demilo of Sand Springs Ok, Martha Drager and husband Milton of Attawa Lake, Mi., Georgia Winkler and husband Stan of Blissfield Mi., Bonnie Beals of Neosho Mo., Bessie Gibson and husband John of Mena Ar., Beulah Donelson of Jackson Tn., and many nieces and nephews. Dossie was preceded in death by his first wife Edie, his parents, in-laws, Leslie and Evelyn Palmer, son-in-law, Warren Anderson, a daughter, Rita Jeanette Shippert in Oct, 1978, 2 brothers Raymond and Lee, 3 brothers-in-laws, Virgil Palmer, Ed Spoon, Irwin Palmer, and stepdaughter, Glenda Sullivan. His hobbies included being an avid hunter and fisherman, tying flies and sawing fire wood. He loved spending time at the family built cabin constructed in 1981. Something he was proud to show and share with family members and friends alike. But most of all he just enjoyed the simple things in life. Memorial services will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home with Pastor Cleates Jeffcoat of The Glenrock, Wyoming Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Casper, Wyoming. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Following the services there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Mountain View Baptist Church located at 4250 Poison Spider road in Mills Wyoming.
