Dorthy Gangwish

Dorthy May Gangwish, 92 passed away March 24, 2012 in Casper. She was born October 28th, 1919 on a ranch in Custer County NE. She was one of 3 children born to William and Phyllis Haumont. She graduated Hastings College in 1937 in Elementary Education. She taught Special Education, 3rd and 4th grade. Dorthy married C. LaVern "Vern" Gangwish on May 20th 1939 in Hastings NE. Dorthy and her family moved to Casper in 1957. She was an active member of the Central Wyoming Kennel Club, and the Zonta Club. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and showing dogs. She is survived by her children, Clark Gangwish, Carol Belcher, and Joyce Allen. Dorthy has 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, 47 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2002, and her brother and sister. Memorial services will be held on Thursday March 29th, at 2:00 PM at Mount Hope Lutheran Church, 2300 South Hickory Street In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Casper Humane Society.
