Dorothy Puder

July 16, 1925 — June 9, 2020

Dorothy Alvina Puder, age 94, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday June 9th, 2020 while in the care of Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyoming.  She leaves behind her cherished four sons, eleven grandchildren,  fourteen great grandchildren, a nephew and five of her husbands children.

Dorothy was born on July 16th, 1925 in Mitchell, South Dakota to parents Herman and Hattie Goldammer.  She was raised in a loving family with a sister, Leona, whom she dearly loved.  Dorothy graduated from Mitchell High School and was soon wed to Elmer Winckler.  They settled in Mitchell, and went on to have four sons; Harlan, Loren, Clyde and Dennis.  While raising the boys, she also worked at Northern Propane as a bookkeeper.   Several years following a divorce with Elmer, Dorothy and son Dennis moved to Casper in the 1970’s, so she could be near her three other sons who had moved to Casper to help run a business with their father.  After she got settled, she continued her profession as a bookkeeper at Poplar Living Center where she worked for many years until she retired.

As three of her sons eventually moved out of state, she made it her mission to fly and visit them once or twice a year until her health no longer allowed her to accomplish that.  Dorothy was a dedicated and caring mother, grandmother, devoted wife and friend; she made a huge and lasting impact on all of her children and grandchildren.  Her grandchildren have shared how much of a legacy their grandmother was leaving, their thankfulness for all that their grandmother had spoke into their lives, how she guided them, prayed for them, taught them, and had showed such great love and kindness; her selflessness and generosity were things that will long be remembered.

Dorothy was a faithful and active member in her church, College Heights Baptist Church for over forty years, starting from the time she had moved to Casper – she dearly loved all her church family there.  Over twenty years ago, she met the love of her life, Bill Puder, at that same church.  They were later married in May of 1998 and were such a happy, sweet and beautiful couple.  She continued to tenderly care for her family and husband, while faithfully serving her church body, doing whatever she could to help advance the work of God through it’s many ministries. Her great love of baking and cooking was truly her gift to all around her. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

In recent years, she and her husband needed to move their residence to Mountain Plaza Assisted Living due to deteriorating health.  After her precious husband passed in October 2018, she was later moved to Meadow Wind Assisted Living, where she stayed until a recent transport to Central Wyoming Hospice.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Puder; her parents, Herman and Hattie Goldammer; her infant sister, Martha Marie Goldammer and sister, Leona Klumb and her husband LaVern Klumb; her nephews, Wesley and Scott Klumb.

Dorothy is survived by:
