Dorothy Portz

It is with broken hearts that the Portz family said goodbye to our mom, AKA mama, Gma, Aunt, friend, wife. She went home to be with our Lord and her son on July 17, 2020. She will be missed every day until we see her again in heaven.

Dorothy M. Portz ( Mastel ) was born in Ipswich, SD.  She married Roger Portz and raised their family in Casper, WY. She retired from Sunshine Corner Daycare in 2000, became a snowbird and then made the permanent move to Yuma, AZ   in 2015.

She blessed many lives with her kindness for animals and children. She loved to camp, bowl, gamble and open her home to family and friends.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Roger Portz. Daughters Vicki Connelly, Roxanne Watson, (Casper,Wy) Shannon Portz (Yuma AZ), Son Doug Hemler ( Denver,Co ) 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Two sisters, Frances Geier (Washington) and Dolly Dodd (Iowa).

She was preceded in death by her son Carl Portz, and 8 brothers and sisters.

Services will be held September 11, 2020 @ 2:00 pm, St Patrick's Church , Casper, Wy ( masks required if attending ) with a Celebration of Life reception following.
