Dorothy Louise, "Dottie" Pattan Nee, Jones August 17, 1946 ~ June 15, 2018 Age: 71 Mother, Margaret Nathalie Jone, nee, Mercer Father, Marvin Nathaniel "Pug" Jones Dottie was an intelligent, talented and loving person who loved her family, all children, animals and her devoted husband, A.J. "Jim" Pattan. She could light up a room with her presence and had a fantastic sense of humor. She married Austin J. "Jim" Pattan on December 24, 1975 in Douglas, Wyoming. They spent nearly 44 happy, fun and loving years together. Though they had no children of their own, she had two daughters by a former marriage; Zina Dea, and Lisa Dawn, and two of Jim's sons, John Charles, and James Gary from his former marriage. The word "step" never entered either Dottie or Jim's vocabulary when their children were spoken of , they each thought of all four as their own. Dottie worked as a secretary, a teacher, a construction worker and still did a fine job of being a wife and mother. She managed to obtain an Associate's degree in business, work and still maintain a good home. She was a certified instructor in ceramics, computers and heavy equipment. She also accompanied Jim when he travelled to perform with his band. She enjoyed most types of music and was a skilled dancer, both ballroom and modern. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Dottie sang harmony on one of Jim's CDs, but was too self-conscious to perform solo. She had a very good voice, but couldn't be convinced of it. She waged an extremely valiant fight against small-cell lung cancer, but succumbed after only ten months of chemo-therapy and natural remedies. Through it all, she never lost her sense of humor, her optimism or her love for everyone with whom she was connected. She will be missed terribly and remembered fondly by everyone who knew her. An adored wife, loving mother and true friend. She is survived by all four children: Zina Dea Hornick of Douglas, WY, Lisa Dawn Sothan of Laramie, WY, John Charles Pattan of Mills and James Gary Pattan of Casper; her sisters, Marva Ponder of Hope, Indiana, Debbie Presfield of Casper, Wyoming, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert. Rest well, Darlin'.
