Dorothy Kleine

September 27, 1921 — February 19, 2017

Dorothy Kleine left this world to live in her heavenly home on 2/19/2017. Dorothy was born to George and Emma Miles in Lebo, Kansas on September 27, 1921. She was the 7th of 7 children. Soon after her birth they moved to a farm at Barclay, Kansas. She grew up on this farm unitl the age of 9 when she moved with her parents and one brother to Osage City, Kansas. Her 2 other brothers and 3 sisters had found work in various places. It was in Osage City in Bible school at a Presbyterian church she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 9. Dorothy's education consisted of 4 years in Barclay and 7 years in Osage City. She quit school and married Russell Fender in 1939. They moved many times, finally moving to Colorado, working on various farms as a cook and farm hand. They also worked in grocery stores, Russell as a meat cutter and Dorothy as a clerk. They adopted their lovely daughter Diana in 1946 while in Colorado. They finally moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1948. Russell worked in various stores as a meat cutter and in housing construction. Dorothy took in washing and ironing and cleaning houses. Dorothy took a job at Memorial Hospital, now Wyoming Medical Center as an aid. She took her GED test and went to night school at Casper College for one year preparing to be an LPN. She graduated in 1955, continuing her work at Memorial Hospital for approximately 18 years. The marriage to Russell ended in divorce in 1969. in 1973 she married Earl Deems. During this marriage she worked in various nursing home and doctor's offices. Upon encouragement from various bible teachers, she took a Bible ministry course in Dayton, Ohio. She worked in ministry at Sonlight Ministries which later changed the name to Casper Open Bible. She obtained her license as an Associate Pastor through the Open Bible denomination. Her marriage to Earl ended with his death in 1989. She continued in ministerial work which was the very core of her life. In 1993 she married Ken Kleine who was from Minnesota and later Texas having met him at a Jr. bible conference, a present husband, friend and lover in which they had many travels and good times. She continued in ministry in Open Bible as Associate Pastor until transferring to Living Streams Fellowship in 2008. In January of 2016 the church changed its name to Christ Convergence Church. Ministry was her life, however while she was able, she liked to read, crochet, embroider, and cook, especially making pies. She wrote a book about her life that was published in 2009. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, 3 brothers, Bill, Francis and Glen and 3 sisters, Miriam, Ruth and Edith. She leaves behind her loving husband Ken, her beautiful daughter Diana Hilterbrand, her much loved grandson Brent Hilterbrand and his wife Chris, one great granddaughter Britany, her husband Nate Gerhart, one great grandson Donte, 3 great great grandchildren, Nate Jr., Aaliyah, and Willy and numerous cousins. Donation may be made in her name to Central Wyoming Hospice and/or Christ Convergence Church.
