Doris Partridge (Norris) Van Den Heede, 79, a long-time resident of Casper, Wyoming, died on February 17, 2012, after a long conflict against cancer and other illnesses. Her family remained by her side at the Wyoming Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at Paradise Valley Christian Church in Casper, Wyoming, at 10 AM on Wednesday February 22, with burial services to follow at 3:30 PM at the cemetery in Upton, Wyoming. Doris was born April 17, 1932, in Newell, South Dakota, to Stuart and Nellie Partridge. Her father worked for the South Dakota Highway department and her mother as a homemaker. Her early years were spent in Newell and Rapid City, SD. In 1948, the Partridge family moved to Osage, Wyoming, and while living there, Doris attended Upton High School where she met and later married Elbert Norris. Doris and Elbert lived in the Upton/Clareton area for the next 6 years. They then moved to the True Oil Camp outside of Moorcroft where they resided for the next 17 years before moving to Casper in 1974. Doris worked ten years plus for Oscar Ray at his pharmacy and drugstore. Elbert and Doris were married 31 years. After a long battle with cancer, Elbert died in 1981. Doris married Clarence Van Den Heede in Casper in 1985. Doris traveled to Japan, Houston, New Orleans and other cities with Clarence and his work. She also enjoyed traveling with travels to Alaska, Hawaii, and numerous other places. In their retirement years Doris and Clarence spent most of their retirement winters in Sun City, Arizona, where Doris gained many new friends with whom she stayed in contact year round. Doris never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she traveled. Next to her love for her family, Doris enjoyed cats. While she only had one real cat at a time, she collected cat figurines. She was an active member of the BETA SIGNA PHI and the local Lady Kiwanis where she worked on a number of local charities. Mrs. Van Den Heede is survived by husband Clarence Van Den Heede of Casper, her brothers, Carl (Lilly) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Larry (Lyla) Partridge of Hillmar, California, sister, Loretta (Joe) Caylor of Eureka, Kansas, sister in law Ethel Partridge of Spencer, Iowa, sons, Monty (Sharon) of Moorcroft, Charles (Cindy) of Casper and Robert Norris of London, England; daughter Mary (Jim) Farnsworth of Moorcroft, step son, Dave (Robin) Van Den Heede of Rapid City, South Dakota, and step daughter Arlene Lincoln of Portland, Oregon; 16 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Eldon Partridge and granddaughter.She was preceded in death by her brother Eldon Partridge and granddaughter, Natasha Norris.
