Dora Peterson

Dora Lynn Peterson, 66, of Peyton Colorado, passed away on March 28, 2021 after a long battle with liver disease.

Dora was born on September 22, 1954 to Jake Braig and Betty Jean (Laing-Asay) Braig in Basin Wyoming. In 1971, she met Royce Anthony Peterson, and they wed in 1974, going on to have two children, Angela Jean (Peterson) Kaley and Carrie Lynn (Peterson) Bowles.

When Dora had Angela, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Dora excelled at propping up and supporting any member of her family through all of life’s difficulties. Whether that was supporting Royce along the many roads the couple traveled down or supporting her two children getting through college and starting families of their own. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others and always showed kindness to everyone she met in the world.

Dora was a passionate writer, poet, crafter and cook, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found fretting away, writing the perfect poem for herself and the family Christmas card. We will miss her greatly and will always carry her in our hearts.

Dora was predeceased by her parents Jake Braig and Betty Jean Braig. Brother Tommy Braig. Sister Lorna Kay Asay. She is survived by her husband Royce Peterson. Daughters: Angela (Ryan) Kaley, Carrie (Jeffrey) Bowles. Sisters: Jackie Drake, Laura (Jerry) Maneval, Sherri Boatman. Brothers: Butch (Norma) Asay, Terry Asay. Two grandchildren: Krys Kaley, Ryver Kaley. All the nieces and nephews that she always kept in her thought and prayers.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on April 14 at 4pm-6pm and April 15  10am-11:30am at Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home 600 Cy Ave Casper, Wyoming.

Services will be held on April 15 at 1pm at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery, 80 Veterans Road Evansville, Natrona County, Wyoming.
