Donna Stafford Robitaille passed away at her Casper home Monday, May 9, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her family, she passed as she lived with strength, grace and dignity. She was 71. Born in Detroit, Michigan on April 10, 1945, Donna's family moved to Longview, Texas, eventually making their home in Richardson, Texas. She graduated from Richardson High School in 1963. Donna met her future husband, Rick, when they shared their first class at the University of Texas in Austin. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. After a twenty month courtship, the two were married in Dallas, Texas on July 16, 1965. Following college and after short assignments in Denver and Billings, her expanded family settled in Casper in late 1970. Donna and Rick celebrated 50 years of marriage in July 2015. Donna quickly adapted to the Wyoming lifestyle, fell in love with the local people and enjoyed the activity opportunities. She was involved in Service League, a Girl Scout leader, a Boy Scout den mother, a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Republican Party. She successfully played team tennis and golf. Donna developed cherished relationships with the: BBCE book club, Florida Tennis Girls, Bulb Babes, Casper tennis group, Wyoming and Arizona Bridge Clubs, Garden Club, Ladies Golf in Wyoming and Arizona and her Mah-jongg groups. Donna loved to travel. Europe, the theaters of New York, beaches of Florida and Hawaii, as well as the palm trees of Litchfield Park, Arizona were her favorite destinations. Above all, her life was filled with endless pleasure and excitement over the growth and numerous sporting activities of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Robert N. Stafford and her mother Margret G. Stafford. She is survived by her husband Rick; daughter Karen Hinchey (Bruce), son John Robitaille (Beth); grandchildren Austin Hinchey, Amanda Hinchey, Tom Robitaille, David Robitaille, Jack Robitaille; sister Nancy Stafford Ward (Lew) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Brothers-in-Law Berry Robitaille (Pat) of Houston, Texas and Tom Robitaille (Jan) of Great Falls, Montana; as well as nieces and nephews Suzanne Sherick, Sara Sexe, Marcia Robitaille, Mark Robitaille, Robert Ward and Steven Ward. Memorial services for Mrs. Donna Robitaille, 71, of Casper, WY, will be held at 2:00pm, on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Oliver officiating. Donna passed away May 9, 2016 in Casper, WY. Memorial contributions in Donna's honor may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, 319 S. Wilson Street, Casper, WY 82601.
