Donald D. Scheetz passed into eternity on March 30, 2018 at age 79 at Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions in Casper, Wyoming. Memorial services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at 1800 South Conwell in Casper, Wyoming on Friday April 6 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Wyoming Veterans' Cemetery at a later date. Don was born October 9, 1938 to Philip and Lydia (Strasheim) Scheetz in Sidney, Montana. He was reared on the family farm along the Yellowstone River and attended the rural, one-room Rau School of Richland County. Don graduated from Sidney High School in 1956. It was there he met the love of his life, Audrey Weaver. They were married on December 27, 1958 at Ebenezer Congregational Church also in their home town of Sidney, Montana. From 1956 to March 1958, Don worked on the family farm and was employed both by Holly Sugar and the Crops Experimental Station of Eastern Montana. With a desire to serve his country, he enlisted in the US Army in March 1958 and was honorably discharged in March 1960. Following his discharge, Don returned for a short time to the Crops Experimental Station. In January 1961 Don began his forty-year career in the airline industry starting with Frontier Airlines. In the summer of 1968, Frontier Airlines transferred Don and his family to Casper, Wyoming. Don continued with Frontier Airlines until their bankruptcy in 1986. Thereafter he worked for Continental Airlines for ten years and several smaller airline companies serving the Casper community for a few years thereafter until his retirement in 2004. In the fall of 1968 Don accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and served Him the remainder of his life. Don faithfully worshiped with believers at Calvary Baptist Church from 1968 until his passing. Don is a hero to his family, and he touched many people throughout the years with his sincerity and kindness. Don is survived by Audrey, his wife of 59 years, who lives in Casper, Wyoming; sons Dwight Scheetz of Ypsilanti, Michigan, David and Susan (Miller) Scheetz of Santa Maria, California and Douglas and Christine (Sacra) Scheetz of Broomfield, Colorado; sister Marian (Scheetz) Miller and brother-in-law Lewis Miller of Great Falls, Montana and brother Kenneth Scheetz and sister-in-law Shirley (Dean) Scheetz of Sidney, Montana. Don is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Walter Weaver of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jon and Gerry (Weaver) Almond of Sidney, Montana and Hilda Weaver of Stedman, North Carolina. Additionally Don is survived by many grandchildren including Caleb, Staff Sergeant serving in the US Army at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Nick of Wixom, Michigan; Adrianne (Scheetz) McNeil and husband Antonio McNeil, Seaman serving in the US Coast Guard at Petaluma, California; Bryson Scheetz, 1st Lieutenant serving in the US Army at Fort Bliss, Texas; Dylan Scheetz, Private First Class serving in the US Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Erik and Katarina Scheetz of Broomfield, Colorado. Don is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: James Weaver, retired US Army of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Wayne Entzel of Sidney, Montana, Glen and Louise (Weaver) Asbeck of Sidney, Montana and Gail (Groshart) Scheetz of Sidney, Montana.
