Donald Ross Pearson, passed away on July 5, 2023, leaving behind a life that will be cherished forever.
Born on March 6, 1947, in the humble town of Leon, Iowa, Don's journey took him far and wide across
the western United States and the world, before he finally found solace in the picturesque landscapes of
Casper, Wyoming, where he took his last breath.
Don's vibrant personality allowed him to effortlessly connect with people from all walks of life. He had an
incredible ability to captivate those around him with his storytelling prowess, leaving lasting impressions
on everyone he encountered. Whether it was friends or strangers, Don enchanted them with his vivid
tales and infectious laughter.
Don was a well-respected individual in the petroleum business, who earned a patent for his significant
contributions. One of his last assignments before retiring was as an instructor of new field engineers for
Schlumberger in Melun, France. Don had a passion for various hobbies and interests. He loved the
tranquility of nature while fishing and hunting and playing a round of golf. In his later years, Donnie
enjoyed playing cribbage, and took part in cribbage tournaments around the state. Among Don's fondest
memories was celebrating the 4th of July in Cody. Each year, he would meet and visit with friends and
family and strangers on the deck of the Irma while enjoying a beer or a bloody mary.
Don found pride in being a member of the Elks Club and the Lions Club of Cody, and the Shriners. Any
visit back home to Cody, Don could be found at the Elks Club seeing old friends. Through these
organizations, he worked towards making positive changes in people's lives while forming lifelong bonds
with fellow members who shared his commitment to service.
Family always held a special place in Don's heart, and he leaves behind cherished memories with them.
He was blessed with the love and companionship of two remarkable women in his life, Rozanne Kay
Melbraaten and Barbara Lee Cundal, who both preceded him in death. He raised two sons, Jason and
Mark.
Jason Pearson, together with his loving wife Karen Pearson, provided Don with two wonderful, loving
grandchildren—Alex and Julia. Mark Pearson and his children Zachary and Reece, brought fulfillment and
love to Don's heart. His unconditional love extended beyond immediate family as he cherished the bond
he shared with his brother Jess and sister-in-law Linda. Donnie always had love for his brother-in-law
John Melbraaten and his wife Emma, as well as his sisters-in-law Suzie and Leanne and their husbands
Merl Warner and Richard Michaels.
Donald Ross Pearson will forever be remembered for the mark he left on every life he touched. His
legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his loss,
let us also celebrate the extraordinary life that he led—a life built on integrity, kindness, and an
unwavering devotion to family.
In our hearts, may Don find eternal peace as he roams through heavenly landscapes, forever enthralled
by stories that echo throughout eternity.

Services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Cody, WY on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 3:00pm
