Don passed away August 5, 2021.
He was born November 2, 1931, to Roy & Blanche Pearson in Wayne County, NE
Don attended county schools growing up and graduated from Wakefield High School, NE in 1950.
In January 1952, Don joined the USAF. After Basic Training, he spent one year in Korea. He returned to the States in 1953, and married Janice Jenkins at the Presbyterian Parsonage near Carroll, NE.
The last two years of Service, he spent AAB in Washington, D.C. After his last two years of Service, he went to St. Louis, MO and attended a trade school for a Mechanical Career.
In 1957 he moved his family to Casper, WY, where he worked at Cotter Battery & Electric and Salt Creek Freightways until they closed the doors. Then he worked at Auto Electric as shop foreman until he retired in 1996.
After moving his family to Evansville, WY in 1963, he was Evansville Fire Chief for about 6 years.
He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
After he retired, he and Jan spent winters traveling the southern states, then wintered for 10 years in Arizona.
He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Also, a member of VFW, American Legion, Eagles and Casper Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Jan; two daughters, Jean Wilson (Bob), Debbie Northrop (Jerry), four grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Shorty Pearson of South Dakota and Jerry Pearson of Kaycee, WY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be August 30, 2021, at 10 AM at Bustards & Jacoby Funeral Home and VA Cemetery.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mon. Aug. 30, 2021 at the Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jo Ann Neal will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
