Donald Lamb

Donald Dean Lamb was born April 13, 1939, in Bowman, North Dakota to Ainslee Delano and Hattie Mae (Pratt) Lamb and passed away October 11, 2016 in Casper, Wyoming due to Pulmonary Fibrosis and double pneumonia. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Rhame, North Dakota, attending a country school. He drove a gravel truck for Melvin Miller and constructed Butler Grain Bins, for Bill Austin, in the Rhame and Bowman areas. In 1960 he worked on oil rigs around Baker, Montana. On May 17, 1960, he married Elizabeth D'Alene Willman in Baker, MT. To this union 3 children were born: Norman Dean, Fred Whitfield, and Lisa Marie. He worked for several ranches in the western ND and eastern MT area before becoming a janitor at the First Interstate Bank in Miles City, MT. He worked for the Schlumberger Well Service Company until they closed their Miles City office. He then went to the Casper, WY area and worked for Wireline, Inc/Gearhart Industries as a truck driver/rig hand, then regional mechanic covering their trucks in shops from Farmington, NM to Williston, ND, and points between, until they closed shop in Casper. He then went back to his original passion of ranch life and mechanicing more recently in Casper, WY at Coal Creek Sheep Co. He enjoyed retirement, his grandchildren, great- grandchildren, fishing, hunting, and dancing. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Jean Olsen, Ina Mae Heick and Diana Beverlin; brothers-in-law, Larry Olsen, Emil Krause and Mike Beverlin; and daughter-in-law Carla Jo (McMahan) Lamb, and nephew, Andrew Maychrzak. Donald is survived by sisters: Dolly Krause, Rhame and Alberta (jack) Maychrzak; brother: Ed and William " Bill"; daughter: Lisa (Bill) Vroman; Sons: Norman and Fred Lamb; Grandsons: Dean (Lexi) Lamb with Danica Jo; Brandon ( Stephanie ) Lamb with Kiersten and Jovie; grandson, Don Brown and Granddaughter, Trista Brown and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Alcova Baptist Church.
