Donal Saulsbury

September 25, 1933 — November 5, 2013

Donal Lee Saulsbury, 80, passed away at the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions in Casper, Wyoming November 5th, 2013. He was born at home September 25, 1933, in a small farmhouse in Missouri near the town of Kirksville. Don was the oldest son of Ross Ray Saulsbury and Mary Vera Freshwater Saulsbury. He married Jeanette Clara Wilcox on April 2, 1971 and not long after he adopted her four children, John, Christine, Michael, and Susan. Don raised those children as if they were his own. He worked in the oilfield as a Driller and Tool-pusher for Schlaikjer Drilling, Drilling Superintendent for Atco Drilling, and later Operations Manager for Home Petroleum. The family lived in Gillette, Moorcroft, and finally settled down in Casper. Don and Jeanette were together for 42 years. Don had a great sense of humor and loved to tease his kids and grandkids. He liked to fish and hunt earlier in his life. He enjoyed reading and doing puzzles and playing computer games. If you knew Don, you knew that if he couldn't fix something it was only because he needed a bigger hammer. He was a Great Dad and a Great Teacher. All you had to do was watch him for a while and you would pick up all of the tools that are needed for a good life, morals, integrity, values, good judgment, love, compassion, and hard work. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, John; daughters, Christine and Susan; siblings, Jerrie Eichelberger and Judy Dillinger, both of Gillette. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Ronald Ray Saulsbury and Larry Leon Saulsbury and his son, Michael Scott Saulsbury. Per Don's request there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place at Bustard's Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be left at bustardsfuneralhome.com. As Don always said "It's a Beautiful Day in Wyoming"
