Delora Chivers

Delora Layne (Thomas) Chivers was born September 5th, 1946 in Vernal, Utah to Ora Lyle Hunting Thomas and Kenneth Lloyd Thomas. She passed at home on May 29th at the age of 67 with her family at her side after a four month battle with Leukemia. Delora married Jimmy Chivers on May 4th of 1964 and the couple had just celebrated 50 years together. Delora is survived by her husband, Jim; two kids, Corrine Chivers Arross and Mitchell Lloyd Chivers both of Casper. Delora was fond of saying that she was blessed with the addition of her "outlaws", John Arross and Robyn Chivers. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Abby Layne Arross, Brody J. Arross, , Cole Mitchell Chivers, Conner Michael Chivers, and Crue Thomas Chivers who were the light of her life. Finally, Delora was survived by her big brother, Larry Thomas of Boise, Idaho. Delora loved her family, babies, dogs and horses. She loved her flowers and her yards. She also was pretty fond of her Corgi, Loki. She was also a great and thankful friend of Bill W. and the family and friends she met through him. A celebration of life will be held on June 8th at 2:30pm at the 12-24 Club located at the corner of Wolcott and 5th Street with reception to follow. Delora would have appreciated donations to any of the rescue or animal shelters and in the words of Delora herself, "be kind and love one another."
