Memorial services for David R. Sutherland will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 3:00 PM. David R. Sutherland, age 86, died at home after a lengthy illness, in the loving arms of his wife Joan, on Oct. 26th, two weeks before their 59th wedding anniversary. David was born in Greybull, WY, Oct. 9, 1927; the son of.L.D. "Si" and Clara Lewis Sutherland. His family moved to Casper, WY a year later where David spent the rest of his life. He attended Park School, Junior High and NCHS. He served in the Navy during WW2; graduated from the first graduating class of Casper College, attended Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and completed his education at Denver University. He had his own public accounting firm for 45 years and was the founder and President of Data Processors, Inc. He married the love of his life Joan Hurd in 1954. David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Casper Lion's Club, Casper Elk's Club for over 60 years, National Society of Public Accountants, Wyoming Association of Public Accountants and the Association of Data Processing Service Organizations. David was an avid hunter and fisherman until his health deteriorated. Later he enjoyed the patio, bird sanctuary and flower garden at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gordon, two sisters Catherine Parish and Alice Bennett and twin sons Jeff and Josh. He is survived by his wife Joan, sons Scott (Jill) of Casper, Brad of Gillette, Gregg (Donna) of Golden, CO, and Rod of Virginia Beach, VA., and seven grandchildren.
