The family of David Kersey Miles, 84, of Casper, WY, would like to invite you to join in celebrating the life of this remarkable man. Celebration will start at 10:00am on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Leading his celebration will be Chris Limmer of House of Our Shepherd Church of Powder River. David left us on September 14, 2015 in Casper, WY surrounded by the love of his family. Born November 29, 1930 in Midwest, WY to Jonathan Kersey and Nellie May Miles. At the age of 8 he and his sister moved in to Casper in 1938 after the loss of both of his parents. He attended both Dean Morgan and NCHS with guidance from only his sister. In 1948 he joined the National Guard and was called to serve his country during the Korean conflict in 1950 which he did with great pride. He was high-speed radio operator instructor in Japan. After his honorable discharge from the Army he returned home to marry the love of his life, childhood sweetheart and roller skating sweetheart, Myrna Judkins. David and Myrna shared 61 blissful years of marriage during which they raised 3 children. The family enjoyed spending time together outdoors hunting, fishing, and tote goating in the mountains. He was an avid bowler, which he has passed on to his children and grandchildren. Many may know and remember David as the Milkman. He worked for Meadow Fold for 20 years, then for Pepper Tank, Coleman Custom Service, and finally North Slopes Alaska before retiring in 1993. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW and a Golden Eagle of FOE. David will be deeply missed by his wife, Myrna of Casper, WY; daughter Nancy Haid of Casper; sons Jonathan "Jon" (Yodi) Miles of Dayton, WY and Richard (Cara) Miles of Casper, WY; grandchildren Amber, Mandy, Sandi, Traci, Johnny, Shance, Rebecca, and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Morgan, Macey, Makyla , Marita, Braxton, Talitha, Emellia, Cooper, Jacob, Kalli, Clayton, Camdin, Haylee, and Colton. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister Kathleen; one grandchild, Clinton; and son-in-law John Mates.
