Darren Duane Mizokami, 48, of Casper, Passed away on September 19th 2018 in Costa Rica. Darren was born in Denver Colorado on March 19th 1970 to Duane Mizokami and was raised by him and Miriam Willan. He married Kimberly Jean Elston on April 16th 2016 in Denver Colorado and they resided in Casper, WY. Together they had 4 children, Brytni, Sami, Alex, and Camden. He grew up in the San Luis Valley attending elementary and junior high at Sierra Grande before moving to Alamosa and graduating there. He moved to Casper, WY where he started his family and career with the City of Casper. Darren was approaching his 25th service anniversary with the city. In his current position as a Utilities Supervisor, he was an integral part of the organization and a valuable asset to the community around him. His love for his family especially for his children was beyond unconditional. They were the light of his eyes. He was so very proud of everything they did and all of their accomplishments. To Darren, his friends were his family. There was never a stranger in his presence. He was the one that would always reach out to you at just the right moment, whether it was a phone call, text message, snap chat, cup of coffee, or to join him for a drink or dinner. He had a way of knowing when you were in need of these gestures. Darren gave more love to his family and friends than most can say in a lifetime. Darren's upbeat personality made him a bright spot to all that came in contact with him. His contagious smile seemed to brighten everyone's day and he never met a person he didn't want to have a conversation with, which created numerous worldwide friendships especially within the community and throughout Colorado & Wyoming. His remarkable job of documenting his family, friendships, and adventures with pictures, have left so many of us with valuable memories. Darren is preceded in death by Grandparents: Sam and Agnes Mizokami, Joe and Frances Best, and Ray Willan. Aunts: Jeanne White, and Marlene Arellano, and Uncle Gary Mizokami. Darren leaves a trail of love including: children Brytni, Sami, Alex and Camden, his father Duane (Rita) Mizokami, brother Brandon (Tammy) Mizokami, sister Krista (Donnie) Garcia, sister Jessica (Rick) Stennett, nieces and nephews, Avery, Demi, Chloe, Mason, Kobe, Rosalia, Uncle Ron (Cindy) Mizokami, as well as numerous step siblings and cousins. Darren and Kim loved to travel, enjoyed many adventures, and lived life to the fullest, PURA VIDA! Memorials may be given to the Kim and Darren Memorial Fund at Reliant Federal Credit Union Casper, Wyoming. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Highland Park Community Church in Casper. A reception will follow at the Wonder Bar, 256 South Center Street in Casper.
