Darlene Hagerott

April 1, 1933 — February 9, 2019

Darlene May (Spitzer) Hagerott, age 85 of Casper, Wyoming, went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2019, surrounded by her family at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions (Kloefkorn Home) of Casper. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Three Crowns Golf Club, 1601 King Blvd., Casper, Wyoming, with Pastor Scott Lee of Sheridan Bethesda Worship Center officiating. Reception directly following service. Darlene was an April fool's baby born on April 1, 1933, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Andrew and Johanna (Scheurer) Spitzer. She grew up in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1951. Following graduation, she worked at Quain & Ramstad Clinic in Bismarck as a Medical Stenographer in the x-ray department. She worked at the skating rink and was known as the "skate girl" at the time she met her future husband (Allan Hagerott). He would visit while on leave from the Navy. They lived in Mandan, ND after getting married on June 28, 1953. They later moved to Billings, Montana where two of their children, Greg and Kim were born. Allan was later transferred to work in Casper where they made their home and had two more children, Jill and Gail. Darlene committed her life to her husband and children. She was an avid bowler and loved watching football. Her favorite team was the Denver Broncos; however, she loved watching the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks since she had family rivals who lived in those areas. She loved camping and outings with her family. She enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards, and birdwatching. Darlene was an exceptional mother. Her love was unconditional. She was always positive and had a contagious laugh. She never met a stranger. Darlene was also a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother! She earned the title of "Google Queen" because when you asked her a question, her response was always "just Google it!" She returned to work full-time as a Marketing Coordinator for Prudential Life Insurance (1980-1992). In 1985, she and her husband took their dream trip to England, France, and Germany. Prior to their trip, they posted German signs around their home and took a class at the college to familiarize themselves with the German language. Beginning in 1993, the couple wintered in Yuma, AZ. Darlene loved golfing, going to flea markets and visiting Algodones, Mexico. Darlene enjoyed making shadow boxes, painting ceramics, and crocheting. Darlene and Allan were married for 63 years. In December 2016, Darlene traveled to San Francisco, CA for open heart surgery to replace two valves. Thanks to this surgery, her family felt blessed to have her around for two more years. Darlene leaves behind her four children Greg (Judy) Hagerott of Sheridan, WY; Kim (Jeff) Larson of Casper, WY; Jill (Craig) Belecky of Gillette, WY; and Gail Hagerott of Casper, WY. At the time of her death, she had 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, and her husband. A memorial has been established to benefit the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions. Memorials and condolences may be sent (in her name) to the family, in care of Bustard's Funeral Directors, 600 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming 82601 (307) 234-7123.
