Funeral services for Darlene L. Brubaker will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Highland Park Community Church with Pastor John Spear officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 21, 2011 at Glenrock Cemetery. Mrs. Brubaker, 71, passed away October 13, 2011 at her home in Casper. She was born May 26, 1940 in Kimball, Nebraska, the daughter of Orville L. and Cora (Steege) Lemaster, a Wyoming Pioneer family. Darlene graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1958. She was married to Dr. E. Lee Brubaker June 3, 1961 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cheyenne. She received her BS degree at the University of Wyoming in 1962, majoring in science and education with a minor in art. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She taught gifted and talented students in Memphis, Dayton, OH, Montgomery, AL and Casper: home school. She was an active member of the neighborhood school board PTO. Her interests included the Wyoming Symphony Board, the organ, piano, the Medical Auxiliary and state and county offices. She was a 4-H leader for 20+ years working with dogs, home economics and earth science. Mrs. Brubaker also was a Girl and Boy Scout Leader. She was also interested in gardening, interior decorating and design. She was a devout Christian, an active church member, a Sunday School teacher and served on church boards. Mrs. Brubaker is survived by her husband, her children, Thomas (Debbie) Brubaker and Kathryne (Curtis) Grace, and Marcus (Fiona) Brubaker. Also her grandchildren, Ryan Brubaker, Jeffrey Brubaker Chad Brubaker, Damon Grace and Owen Grace.
