Danny Lee Schoenewald passed away on St Patrick's Day, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Wyoming Medical Center. Danny was born April 1, 1947 to Thomas J. Schoenewald II and Shirley Jean (Perona) at Natrona County Hospital (Wyoming Medical Center) and raised in Casper, Wyoming. He began his education at Grant Elementary, eventually moving on to St Anthony's, Dean Morgan, and was graduated from Natrona County High School. He was married to Linda Hudson and later divorced. Danny served in the U.S. Army, having reached the rank of Specialist 4, and was honorably discharged in 1971. He served in El Paso, Texas where he attended college. After discharge he returned to Casper, taking some classes at Casper College, where he shared his sheet metal expertise for a few years as a part-time instructor. One of Danny's favorite activities was to fish prairie trout streams with a fly rod in one hand and a GPS in the other to make sure he always respected property owners' rights. He also enjoyed winters, especially on Casper Mountain, on his snowmobile. Memberships included American Sheet Metal Workers and the American Legion. Danny is remembered by his neighbors who say he always had a kind word for their families and by many of his customers where he worked. He is survived by his brothers Thomas (Thermopolis) and Mickey (Casper), his stepmother Lucy, nieces and nephews, and grand niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for interment will take place Summer 2017 at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
