Daniel Miller

Services for Daniel "Danny" Miller, beloved husband/father, will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, March 23, 2012 at Bustard's Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, March 22, 2012 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Danny went home to the Lord in the comfort of his home after a courageously fought battle with a lengthy illness. Danny was born July 5, 1941 to Daniel Hughes Miller and Ellen Mae (Springsteen) Miller. Danny was raised on a ranch in Powder River, Wyoming. He attended NCHS, Casper College, and later Danny attended American Flyer's in Ardmore, Oklahoma, as well as Bismarck Junior College. In 1959 Danny proudly joined the Navy and served on the USS Midway and in several submarine missions. After his discharge from the Navy he followed his dreams of becoming an elite pilot in which his extreme talent excelled him into a test pilot for Beechcraft, flight instructor, a truck driver, his love of ranching, and a master of many trades. In 1978 Danny married Peggy Jo (Graham) Miller and they moved to Bismarck, North Dakota so Danny could pursue his job of being a Terminal Manager for Consolidated Freightways. In 1995 Danny came home to the family ranch. Danny was a member of the Bismarck Elks Club, the American Legion, the VFW, the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge. Danny was a hero to many and showed endless love to all. He was a man of strength, wisdom and many sought his advice. In later years he thrived off the love and support of his family. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Peggy, his children Lois Ellen, Thelma Jane (TJ), Leslie Diane (Randy), Daniel Chancey (D.C.), TracyLynn (Clint), and Kenneth Patrick (Amanda). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michael, Lynse, Garret, Shellbie, Jake, Sara, Caleb, Shanna Mae Brown, and Chancey Lee Brown, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, his parents, and several aunts and an uncle. In lieu of flowers Donations can be made out to Victim's Service's.
