Dana Patrick Young, age 61 of Casper, Wyoming was called home to be with his Lord suddenly on Friday, December 6, 2019. Dana was born on January 2, 1958 in Worthington, Minnesota to Alfred Earl and Margaret Elizabeth (Wymore) Young.
Dana grew up in Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School in 1976. While attending Junior College, he moved to Minneapolis to live with his brother, Terry. It was while in Minneapolis he was introduced and fell in love with playing table tennis. In 1984, Dana moved to Denver, Colorado and fell in love with the mountains and all the activities they offer including hiking, camping and skiing. After 6 years in Denver, Dana migrated to Cañon City, Colorado where he met the greatest love of his life, Candice. Together, the couple moved to Cheyenne in and were married in 2007. In 2008, Dana and Candice moved to Casper where Dana began working as the A/V Tech for the Casper Events Center in August of 2011 and was employed there until his death.
Dana was outgoing, fun loving and quick witted. He loved people and people loved him. From his own family, to his church family at The Fort Ministry, to his table tennis family or to his Events Center family, each and every person was special to him. He made many friends and many have endured throughout his life.
Dana was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Randall Young, who passed away while serving in Vietnam when Dana was only 10 years old. He is survived by his wife, Candice; his son Dominic Ambrose and wife Jordan of Casper; two grandchildren, Isaiah “Poop & Stinker” Ambrose and Octavia Ambrose; brothers, Dennis E. Young and wife Kathy of Tennessee, Thomas Young of Minnesota, Terrance Young and wife Nancy of Port Charlotte, FL and Bob Moore and wife Mary of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dana’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at his home church, The Fort Ministry, with Pastor Jim Shade officiating. A reception will follow at the Casper Events Center after the service and everyone is invited to join the family.
