Daisy Townsend

Daisy May Townsend, ninety-seven, of Casper, passed away January 6, 2014 at her daughter's home in Spring Creek, Nevada. She was born in Routt County, Colorado, the daughter of George Washington and Pearl Cassingham. She married the late Sterling K. Townsend in Riverton, Wyoming. They made their home in Casper where they raised nine children. She is survived by her nine children, Laura Jean Rector and husband John of Spring Creek, Nevada; Allen Townsend and wife, Sandra, Francis Raines and husband Ed, Linda Franklin and husband Dave, Paul Townsend, and Russell Townsend of Casper; Sharon Maslo of Centennial, Colorado; Dixie Weeks of McComb, Mississippi; and Sterling Townsend Jr. and wife Jean of Morrison, Colorado. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling K. Townsend, one child, Richard Townsend who died in infancy, and two grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 at The Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
