Clay Allen Patrick Brownell was born on July 9th, 1992 in Casper, Wyoming and he passed away on May 15th, 2012 in Casper. Clay was raised in Casper and the son of Colleen Kotarski Brownell and Robert Brownell, brother to Jesse and Ashley. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 2011. Clay excelled in sports, especially football and soccer and he was a high school All-State athlete in both sports. From the time Clay was old enough to walk he loved football and he was living his dream playing Division I football as a Colorado State Ram. He cherished his Irish heritage and loved studying history. Clay lived life passionately, which showed in his love for his family and friends and in his dedication to sports and school. He always had a smile on his face that lit up his eyes and was never afraid to stand up for what he believed in. He was compassionate, loyal, and was never afraid to say "I love you." He was the best son and brother anyone could ever hope to have. Clay is survived by his mother Colleen Brownell, father Robert Brownell, brother Jesse Brownell, sister and brother-in-law Ashley and Nate Hollenbeck, niece Presley Hollenbeck, Grandmother Dolores Glaze, Grandmother Donna Brownell, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be walking into the loving arms of his maternal grandfather, paternal grandparents, maternal uncle, maternal great aunt, and forever be held in the arms of the Lord. Funeral services for Clay will be at Highland Park Community Church on Saturday May 19th at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the Clay Brownell Memorial Fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank. There will be a reception at the church following the burial.
