Christopher Jacob

Christopher Ryan Jacob died in the late evening hours on May 20, 2019 in Casper, WY. He was born on February 8, 1993 to Michelle Wheeler and Ryan Jacob. He attended schools in Casper and Buffalo and schools in Washington and Montana. He is survived by his mother Michelle and step-father Martin Martinez; his father Ryan and step-mother Michelle Jacob; his sister Rayne Jacob; three step-brothers Martin Martinez Jr, Drew Crimm, and Dakota Merrill; grandparents Shirley Jacob, Beverly Wheeler, and Wayne Wheeler. Chris loved his family and valued his friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, the mountains, the lakes, and the canyons. He had many talents, but his main interest was anything with wheels. As a child he rode his bicycle on dirt bike tracks, city and ranch roads. As a young adult, he graduated to motorcycles and cars - which he had the bodywork talent to customize, and the motivation to race. Always in motion, that was Chris. Now Chris, finally, is at rest, and I hold him close within me. Please hold him close, as I do, in your mind and in your spirit. Chris was smart, resourceful, ambitious, and determined. Remember the meaning of this tragedy, and let us find and encourage within ourselves, within our society, those gifts that make each of us special: not star power, not intellectual prowess, not financial success, but the extraordinary beauty of the simple human heart. Because that's how Chris would have wanted it. At a private committal service, his ashes will be scattered on land he loved. A public celebration of his life will be held later this summer on Casper Mountain.
