Chester Pingree Sr., 92, of Fort Washakie passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 26, 2018 at 11:00 am, John Pingree residence. Chester Sr. was born on October 12, 1925 to Alice (Leonard) and James Pingree in Fort Washakie. He was a World War II Veteran in the United States Navy. He served aboard the Escort Carrier USS Petrof Bay and participated in the following operations: Western Caroline Islands, Leyte, Luzon, Iwo Jima and Okinawa Operations. He held the rank of Seaman First Class and was honorably discharged on April 8, 1946. Chester Sr. had a witty sense of humor and loved socializing with his family and friends. He was a well-known fancy dancer in his day, as well as, a traveler. He was an outdoorsman and an avid rancher. He loved being around his family and his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Survivors include his four children, Chester Pingree Jr. (Vicki), Jim Pingree (Mary Ellen), Adrienne Dunlap (Tom), John Pingree (Kelly). His sisters Mary Ester Wagon and Rosaline Niedo, grandchildren, great-grandchild, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Proceeded in death by his daughter Antoinette Marie Pingree, his parents, his numerous brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandson.
