Cheryl Sue Anderson Wright was Born October 27, 1944 in Boone, Iowa to Bill and Ruby Anderson. She was raised in Boone, and graduated from Boone High School. She married Gene Wright February 10th, 1962 and moved around the country during his military service. They owned a farm in the Scranton, Iowa area and she owned a ceramics shop in Ralston where she taught art classes. They vacationed in Wyoming and decided to settle in Cody in 1978. There she worked at Pamida, for the Wyoming Game and Fish at the game check station and the Wyoming State Parks Service before working at the Park County Library. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science in 2007 and retired from the library in 2009. During her life she enjoyed spending time with her family, hunting, gathering, raising animals, cooking, and preserving food, but especially loved gardening. She was a Master Gardener and wrote three books about gardening in Wyoming, these books contained gardening methods for Wyoming climates and favorite recipes. She enjoyed art and writing and contributed stories and poems that were published in magazines and books. She also enjoyed genealogy and traced the family history back numerous generations while contributing information to several genealogy societies. Cheryl collected and wrote down family stories that she hoped would be passed down for many generations. Gene and Cheryl were married for 54 years and raised three children: her daughter Janie and son-in-law Mike Burnett of Casper, son Mitch and daughter-in-law Amy of Casper; son David and daughter-in-law Robin of Boone, Iowa; grandchildren Jaden, Liam, and Aaron of Boone Iowa, Austin and wife Sara of Casper, Ty of Cody, Mike of Cody, Chawney and husband Ron of Bozeman, Amanda of Bozeman, Brandie, Shelby, Ceci of Casper and Kristen of Cheyenne. Great-grandsons Tucker and Aden; extended family Sherri and Jake Edgar, and Lisa Muckley of Cody. Cheryl passed away at the age of 73 on December 25th, 2017 surrounded by her family. In lieu of flowers Cheryl's family asks that donations be made in her name to the Park County Library, the Park County Master Gardener program, or Central Wyoming Hospice . A celebration of Cheryl's life is being planned for the Spring of 2018 in Cody and she will be buried along with her Husband Gene at Mineral Ridge Cemetery near Boone. Details will be announced at a later date. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
