Charles Metzler

February 12, 1934 — February 6, 2021

Following a long and courageous battle against cancer, Charles (Chuck) A. Metzler, 86, of Casper, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Chuck was born February 12, 1934 in Tekamah, Nebraska to Art and Mable Metzler.  He was the second of their two children.

By the time Chuck started school, the family had moved to Schuyler, Nebraska.  Chuck remained in Schuyler until after his graduation from Schuyler High School.  While attending Schuyler High School, he met his future wife, Marjorie Ann Svoboda.

After graduation, Chuck and his buddies enlisted in the Navy. Upon completion of his term in the Navy, he returned to Schuyler and to Marge.  They were married in 1956 and a year later had their son, Terry.

Chuck started his career with Toledo Scale in the equipment service department.  Over the years and across the states, he moved up the ladder with the company, eventually ending up in the sales division.  By this time, the family had moved to Ohio.

In 1965 they had their daughter, Yalonda.

Chuck was a father who loved being involved in his children’s extracurricular activities.  Weekends were meant to watch Terry in Wee Dragons and later High School sports or running Yalonda around to parades that she twirled baton in.

Chuck and Marge moved to Wyoming in 1994, as both of their children were already living there.

In addition to his family, Chuck loved his pets, yard work, gardening and having a good time.

He had a little piece of heaven that was very near and dear to his heart, where you could find him at everyday with is beloved Haley, his miniature donkey, and Mimi, his pot bellied pig.

He always enjoyed laughter, especially when a joke was pulled on someone else and he was able to observe it.

Chuck is survived by his wife Marjorie, son Terry and daughter, Yalonda (Loni) Kaufman. His puppy Tucker, Mood Dude his big kitty and his faithful kitty, Callie.
