Chandler Adam Butler was granted his angel wings on April 6, 2016, following a terminal illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family that Chandler had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life. Chandler's life would seem too brief to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Although Chandler's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours decked out in his favorite Batman gear while cuddling close to those he loved so much. He enjoyed school with his friends at the Child Development Center, reading, playing with his Dixie Dog (and any other animal that would have him), and helping his Momma and Daddy with cooking and household projects. With Chandler's passing, we remind others that his miraculous life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, especially his beautiful blue eyes and dimpled smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. During his short time here, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents. We are so thankful for the privilege to spend so much time with this amazing little boy. Chandler leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Chandler's love extends to Doctor Marjorie Wells, his hospice nurse Deb and CNA Courtney, and countless nurses and doctors in the PICU and general care floors at Childrens' Hospital Aurora, who helped him survive some of his toughest medical challenges. He also greatly cared for his friends at the CDC, Allison, Shannon, Molly, and Terra. Chandler is preceded in death by his grandparents, Liz Butler and Dean Chandler and great grandfather John Butler. Chandler is survived by his loving parents, Devin and Britney Butler along with his beloved Dixie Dog of Casper, WY; paternal grandfather Bob Butler of Casper, WY; maternal grandmother Jerri Chandler of Snyder, TX; many aunts and uncles; and cousins Kolton, Cash, Kassidy, Cannon, Aiden, Asher, Leighton, Kaiya, Brianna, Ian, Hannah, Keatin, Dante, Marinda, Jesse, Lana, Candice, Allison, Jackson, and Leah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Central Wyoming Hospice or to the Gracie's Promise Foundation in Torrington.
