Kay McIntire passed away quietly on Thursday March 21.2013 at the Wyoming Medical Center after a brief struggle with cancer, she was 77. She was born Catherine Sharon Jobe on September 8, 1935 in Trenton, Missouri to Mary and Joseph Jobe. Her family relocated to northwest Ohio a few years later. She graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio in 1953 and met and married Richard McIntire later that year. She and Richard raised 5 children in their home in Maumee, Ohio. She worked for 23 years for Seaway Foodtown Corp., and retired as a store manager. In 1993 she and Richard moved to Casper, Wyoming. She enjoyed her retirement travelling to see all their children and grandchildren. She had a passion reading about pioneer women travelling west on the wagon trains. She devoted her life to her children and husband. She also volunteered her time to various organizations in Casper. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Imogene Healey, and Mary Jo Jobe and brother Billie Jobe. She is survived by her husband, Richard, sister Barbara Haber, brothers Max and Larry Jobe, children, Marcia Prentiss (Tim) of Lenexa, Kansas; Scott Mclntire (Pam) of Buena Vista, Colorado; Tim McIntire (Gail) of Casper, Wyoming; David McIntire (Lisa) of Chandler, Arizona; Susan Sharpe (David) of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. Her grandchildren include Luke, Becky, Aaron, Jake, Jenn, Michael, and Matt McIntire, Ben Prentiss, David and Richard Sharpe, and Kady Locke. She has one great granddaughter, Emma Kay Speery, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for Friday April 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 318 E. 6th St. in Casper. Memorials may be given to Central Wyoming Senior Services, or to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Kay's name.
