Carol Reed , 73 passed away February 9, 2011 in Boulder County, Colorado, after a short battle with cancer. She fought for the last ten months with grace and dignity and the same strength she had throughout her life. She was born in Casper, Wyoming on December 15, 1937 to Ernest and Fern Reed. Carol grew up in Casper with younger brothers Johnny and Charles Reed. She graduated from Natrona County High School and Park College in Denver. Carol worked for the State of Wyoming, Department of Social Services for 18 years. She has lived in the Denver area for the last twenty-one years where she worked as a legal secretary until she retired. After retirement she was very involved in raising her great grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by both parents and her brother Johnny Reed. She is survived by her brother Charles Reed, Casper, four children, Johnny Baum (Jane), Casper, Danny Baum, Columbus, Georgia, Andrea Robinson of Denver and Laura Baum of Westminster, Colorado. Four grandchildren, Andrew Svoboda, Canon City, Colorado, Captain Beau Baum, MD, Del Rio, Texas, Zachary Baum, Big Bear Lake, California and Erin Baum, Big Bear Lake California; two great grandchildren, Taylor Reed-Svoboda, Westminster, Colorado, Tristin Reed, Westminster, Colorado and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Kirby Kublak, Easterbrook Community Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the name of Taylor Reed-Svoboda and Carol Fern Reed.
