Carmelita Hutchings was born on October 2, 1931, and left us to be with our Lord and Savior January 13, 2016. She came from a wonderful family consisting of 9 children who were born to Julian and Maria Garcia; they were Conrado, Enrique, Alfredo, Carmelita, Clarence, Mary Ann, Edwardo, Angel and Isabel. Carmelita joined the US Navy on November 6, 1951 and was assigned to Bainbridge Maryland, where she served 2 years in the post office. She was then transferred to Pearl Harbor Hawaii in July of 1953, where she met and married Charles Hutchings on November 14, 1953. They shared 62 years of wedded bliss. Together they raised 2 sons Ray born in 1954 and David born in 1955. During their married life they lived in Hawaii, Skaggs Island, Germany, Morrocco, Washington D.C., Rhode Island, San Pedro, Washington State, San Diego and Long Beach, where they retired. Since retirement they have lived in California, Oregon, California again and then they went to Wyoming. Carmelita's favorite hobbies were: fishing, camping, traveling, and going to the casino. She enjoyed trips to Reno, many trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin where she became an expert black jack player. She also loved to dance and teach the Hula. She leaves behind and in mourning her husband Chuck, 2 sons Ray and David, 5 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren.
