Calvin Hugh Talbott, 87, of Casper, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Born on March 1, 1927, in Leoti, Kansas, he was a son of the late Henry Talbott and Margaret Ekey Talbott. He was the husband of the late Virginia Thomas Talbott for 45 years and was also preceded in death by his son Lee Eugene Talbott and eleven brothers and sisters. Mr. Talbott was a veteran of the US Army, having actively served in World War II. He owned his own company, Cal's Water Service, located in Gillette, WY for 15 years where he made many lifelong friends. Throughout his life, Mr. Talbott was a great enthusiast of the beauty of Wyoming. He made his own contribution to this beauty devoting much time and energy to tending to his lawn. Once while living in Gillette, he planted 500 trees to beautify his land. Mr. Talbott is survived by his daughter Sheryl Settles (Eldon) of Weatherford, OK; son Timothy Lee Talbott of Casper, WY; granddaughter Roxanne Talbott Sims of West Columbia, SC; grandsons Steve and Gene Barr of Ponca, OK, Brian Settles of Weatherford, OK, Ryan Jones of Tulsa, OK; great grand-daughter Addalyn Virginia Daley of West Columbia, SC; great grand-sons Kevin Barr and Jacob Barr of Ponca, OK. A graveside ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Oregon Trail Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand. - Irish blessing
