Throughout his illness he was surrounded by loving family and friends. Burl was born on June 2, 1930 in Cody, Wyoming to James Burley and Lucille Nance Ford and raised in Casper where his father "walked the beat" as a police officer. At an early age, Burl performed the Mexican hat dance around town. He graduated in 1950 from NCHS then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 6, 1957 he married the love of his life and best friend, Thea Kennedy. They were blessed with an incredible marriage for 59 1/2 years and had 4 wonderful children. He played softball and was an avid football and baseball fan. He worked the chain gang for KWHS and NCHS for 50 years. He attended the first Super Bowl in 1967 and 2 Denver Bronco Super Bowls, one of which he rode to on Pat Bowlen's private jet. In 1998 he threw out the opening pitch at the Colorado Rockies Game. Burl was a master plumber and owned Burl's Reeves Plumbing, serving the community of Casper for over 64 years. His interests included collecting insulators, arrowheads, ink bottles and antiques. He also enjoyed fishing, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, and time spent at his cabin on Casper Mountain, at his second home in his beloved Beaver Dam Arizona where he enjoyed golfing. He was a proud member of the Oil City Slickers and sang with the Gentleman's Touch Quartet. Burl cherished his family and friends. He is survived by his sister June Cowger, wife Thea, Daughter's Jackie Chimpky (Don), Lisa Hildebrand, Susie Ford, Judy Ford and grandchildren Lindi, Dustin, Amberlee, Alexa, Ashlyn, Robby, Steven Tayler, DJ, Doug, Jeannie and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son James Burl "Burley" Ford. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He loved and lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. His life stories will live on through the legacy of his Children. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casper Mountain Fire Protection District, 1000 Limmers Rd, Casper Wyoming 82601.
