Bruce Daniel Volney, a doting husband and loving father, passed away at the age of 61 on October 13, 2019 after an illness. He was born in Williston, North Dakota and graduated from Williston High School in 1977. He met his beloved wife, Laura, in Williston and they were married on June 14, 1980. He graduated from Minot State University in 1992. Bruce's favorite season was boating. The crackle of a late-night camp fire and family game time always made him smile. He enjoyed all things lake including skimming across the water in his boat, fishing, camping, driving golf carts, and cooking marshmallows over a flame. Bruce's love for his family came through in everything he did. He especially loved being a grandpa to Noah and Suri. In his spare time, he could be found tinkering in his garage, hunting, target shooting, hauling things with his truck, and driving around in his Jeep with his wife. He had an enriched life including being the president of the local Cowboy Action Shooting organization and being a mentor to troubled youths. Bruce was devoted to God, family, and country. He lent a friendly ear to all those who needed it and leaves a resounding impact with his humor and wisdom. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ardyce Volney, father-in-law, Kenneth Javorsky, brother-in-law, Brent Lee, and brother, Greg Volney. He is survived by his wife, Laura, their two daughters, Dana and Marissa (Christopher), two treasured grandkids, and other cherished family members. A private graveside service will be held for family members. Condolences can be sent to volneyventures@yahoo.com.
