Bradley Menzel

November 8, 1965 — June 22, 2019

Brad was born on November 8, 1965 in Omaha, Nebraska. Jim and Carol Menzel adopted him, and they drove him to their home in Thermopolis in a laundry basket. They soon moved to Casper where Brad slowly became a stalwart of the community. As he grew he gave pieces of himself to everyone that he met. There are very few people who knew him that didn't have a story about how "Big Brad" helped them through a tough time in their lives. He was the kind of man who would drop everything he was doing in order to help someone. In 1989, he met the love of his life, Phyllis. She slowly settled him down and with her they raised three children along with the countless friends that they brought home. An avid volunteer, Brad gave his time to coaching his sons in basketball and football, and joined in his daughter's dance competitions. Brad was a coach for the Casper Midget Football Association for over thirty years, and was the equipment manager for nearly twenty-five. There are few young men and women that came through the program that will forget the booming voice of the coach of the Cowboys yelling, "Good hit", "Ball!" and "Nice job buddy!" across the field. His wife Phyllis; their three children, Hunter, Broderick, and Bailey; his brother, Mark and sister-in-law, Lynda and their three children, Valerie, Sara, and Jamie; survives Brad. Brad is also survived by the countless members of his extended family. After all, "a stranger is a friend you haven't met yet". A celebration for this larger than life man will be held this Friday, June 28 at 10:00am at the Casper Event Center. A reception will follow for those who wish to attend at The Gaslight Social in downtown Casper. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Brad's name to the Casper Midget Football Association.
