Billy Coleman, 84, of Casper, WY, passed away on April 1, 2011 at Central Wyoming Hospice Center. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery Chapel. Billy was born on August 29, 1926 to Earl and Ruby (Peters) Coleman in Casper Wyoming. Growing up on Squaw Creek, it was Billy's job to wrangle up the horses in the morning, a love of the animals he greatly admired. He became a jockey, riding at Aksarben and for Calumet Farms. Later in life, he owned and raced Quarter Horses. He was very proud to have served his country as a paratrooper and was discharged in 1947. Billy was a member of the Carpenter's Union, holding office as Assistant B.A. and owning his own business, Coleman Custom Services. His most memorable project was helping build the sets of the John Wayne movie, HELL FIGHTERS. Billy married Cleah Clark on April 23, 1948 and to this union a child was born, Brendan. Survivors include his son Brendan (Bertie), two grandsons, Robby Tasler and family of Casper, Ryan Tasler and family of Scottsdale, Arizona, brother, Earl Coleman of Riverton, WY and Merle Coleman of Jackson, WY, sisters, Lela Dunder and Garnet Riebold both of Plummer, Idaho. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many that he helped raise at sometime in their lives, and he leaves behind many special friends . He was preceded in death by his wife Cleah (Clark) Coleman, parents, a brother, Homer Coleman and a sister, Betty German.
